Take this extra day to do or say something that wouldn’t have crossed your mind. Go barefoot. Hug someone. Remind the people that you love that you are not taking them for granted. Look your dog in the eye and smile. She might smile back. Call your parents. Eat food you’ve never eaten. Read a newspaper. Give your neighbor his tools back. . Tip the gas station attendant. Buy your assistant lunch. Get some ice cream…for everyone. Do a pushup. Take a long whiff of the ocean. Check out the stars (and planets) tonight. Vote for a performer on a reality show. Salute the flag. Make a list of things you learned recently-and who taught you those things. Text someone you haven’t texted in a year and ask them how they are-and mean it.
