As we prepare to send off our friends, daughters and nephews off to school, let’s remember that we were there once. How can we forget the anticipation, the wonder, the new clothes? The questions that haunted us still ring through the head of each student-to-be. Is my notebook (IPad) the right color? Will my (virtual) classes by difficult? Will I make new (Facebook) friends? Number two pencils have moved aside for laptops and rotary phones are somehow small enough for our pockets but the first day of school is always pretty cool, anxious and hopeful. Remember your first day and give your student-to-be a pat on his/her back-his/her actual back.
