Provocative, huh? We’ve all endured some form of annoyance/hardship/loss in the past month. We will be reminded of Sandy for years and we’ll probably refer to this storm as the worst of our lives. My loving dog and I evacuated on that eerie Sunday to higher/dryer ground. We are currently sharing space with mom and dad. The privacy is non-existent but the food is really good. My little rescue pup from the streets of the Bronx has been a constant source of joy and unconditional love. She doesn’t quite get that things are messed up, nor does she really care that much. She cares that she is warm and fed and with me(and my parents). When I arrive at our temporary inland home each day, she licks my face. I didn’t name her. When I adopted her four years ago, I had no idea that she would remind me of some future weather debacle. She came with the name tag clanging about her collar – SANDY.
